Cayucos By-the-Sea is located on California's Central Coast, right on Highway 1. The fun, tiny beach town sits at the foot of hills lined with open ranches to your east, beach and sand to the west. This quiet town is referred to as one of the last original California towns. From this quaint town, if you cast your eyes out over the horizon of the Pacific Ocean, you could possibly see sailing ships, steamers and the like dotting the coastline. One of local's favorite activity is the day long, fun-filled 4th of July. The day begins with a parade, sandcastle-building contest and wheel barrow races on the beach and ends with a firework show.
